Text Box: Creative Word Ministries The ministry of CWM is based on the concept that the Spirit-inspired Word of God is creative and causative, able to effect change in the lives of individuals and families, in circumstances, and in nations. An interdenominational, IRS-approved non-profit corporation, CWM was founded in late 1975 by Sylvia and a group of friends in Waycross, Georgia, its corporate headquarters. From 1977 through 1992, the ministry office was located in Moultrie, Georgia, where the Lord led Sylvia to move in response to invitations to provide consistent Bible instruction, after nearly three years of building foundations through teaching and counseling as a visiting minister, in the wake of a fresh move of the Spirit there. In Moultrie He gave staff members and a team of co-workers to develop the ministry, with a strong local and regional base for counseling, tape ministries, missions trips, retreats and seminars, children's and youth Bible clubs, and adult Bible courses, with a circuit of Bible studies throughout South Georgia and North Florida. CWM also began to sponsor regional women's conferences in various states. As Sylvia moved more and more into national and international travel, the Lord spoke to her to release the Moultrie-based ministry, having seen a strong growth of believers, who continue to serve in area churches and participate in missions outreaches around the world today. In January 1993, she returned the office to its founding base in Waycross, where she worked closely with the Area Ministerial Association and many other community leaders to coordinate a Regional Thanksgiving Rally. In August 1997, she was invited to teach again at Elim and, at the Lord’s leading, moved the CWM office to Lima, from where she continues to "go to the world."
